NIN Concert

So... I went to a Nine Inch Nails concert some weeks ago with a friend who was on vacations.

At first I wasn't much excited about the idea but since my friend is a huge fan of them and it was probably one in a life time opportunity for him to see them, I acceded to go with him.

The place where the concert took place was very cool and actually was bigger than other concert places I've been. Another thing which made it bigger was the fact that was the second concert on the same city and it was not as crowded as the first one.

While hanging around I asked to someone if she knew who were going to open the show (I was hopping to take something good from the concert), and for my big surprise I was told that a Pakistani band were in charged of opening the show.

So... they started playing and I already wanted to leave. What a shitty band! Really, it is not because they are from a weird country to me or because their looks (all of that was OK). It was the music... they played some kind of stupid, bastard, retarded punk who really got into my nerves. All of them seem pretty stoned and besides that, there wasn't anything else interesting about them.

Finally they finished and half an hour later NIN started playing.
The show was actually very good! The combination of lights, the sound and the on stage interpretation were great.
As you may understand for what I've written, I am no NIN fan... but I actually enjoyed many of the songs and ended the show jumping with my friend (who by the way was so fucking amazed, bedazzled, excited, etc).

The only song I knew entirely was "Closer" and maybe because of it... the one I enjoyed the most.

Have to say that they were worthy of my time and money, because even though I might never become a NIN fan... I will certainly enjoy some of their music.

Opeth Rulezzzz!!

Xup people!

A few days ago I had the opportunity to assist to an Opeth concert... and I have to say the experience was AMAZING! I've always liked Opeth but being in a concert took me to another level (with no drugs whatsoever...).
The concert took about 2 hours and they performed many different songs, such as "Black Water Park", "Deliverance", "Windowpane", "Demon of the Fall", among many others. My favorite one was Black Water Park anyway... though they closed the show with Deliverance.

During the presentation the vocalist (Mikael), talked with many fellows in the crowd and even had them shut up (hehehee... joking of course)... and he demonstrated a different charisma than what is known in Metal groups.
Their presentation made me remember a legendary Metal band named"Death", but I am not sure why... anyway it was totally ass kicking!

Their performance was absolutely awesome and the concert was great, though the band that was supposed to open the show didn't performed because their car/bus (whatever), didn't make it to the place.

In case you don't know...
Opeth is a progressive death metal band from Sweden. Opeth adds several lighter elements to their music, such as acoustic guitar interludes, influences from jazz, 1970s progressive rock, blues and folk elements. Vocalist Mikael Åkerfeldt performs both clean singing and death vocals. Due to their unique blend of melodic and progressive elements, they are said not to conform to any specific metal sub-genre. The name Opeth was taken from the novel Sunbird by author Wilbur Smith, and was originally spelled Opet. In the book, Opet is the name of the location for an ancient empire which translates to "City of the Moon".

I will post photos from the concert soon... so stay tunned!

Lacuna Coil

Greeeeetings maties!!!

I am trying to get my pages updated (cause I don't have anything else to do), so I have to tell you about the last concert I went.

As you can read from the title it was a Lacuna Coil concert (in case you don't know the band it is an italian band with 2 singers, a female and a male, with black/goth style... I guess... more info at http://www.lacunacoil.it/). It was really cool and a bit cowdy.

Anyway, I never though I would be in one of their concerts... but I really enjoyed it.
They played for 1 hour, including a Depeche Mode song called "Enjoy the silence"... among others from their new CD and some others from previous disks.

I really liked the girl... her name is Cristina Scabbia... as a matter of fact, I liked her since the first time I saw her (and I don't tend to like any artist or singer).

Anyway, if you'd like to see pics, send me a message.

Have a good time.
